About Us

Welcome to Dufferin Mutual Insurance Company. This organization was founded in 1895 as a farm mutual and remains a true 'mutual' today, owned entirely by it's policyholders, The headquarters are still in Shelburne, in the heart of the district it serves.

Things have changed in the last 100 years, and so has Dufferin Mutual. We are a fully licensed multi-line insurer offering protection for property, automobile, and liability insurance to over 5000 policyholders. However what has not changed is that we operate in your area - we are your local insurer. As a corporate citizen for over 100 years, we will continue to support the community in which we work and conduct our business.

A Board of Directors, made up of nine members, one third (3) elected each year for three year terms from the policyholder group, guide the affairs and policy of the Company. If you want more information on the Board, or you are interested in becoming a member, please contact us.
